We need your help!
2011 has been a great first year of sales for the new “Mountain Biking” specialty vehicle license plate! As of the end of November, we’ve sold over 500 plates and raised over $12,000 for trails. To keep up the momentum, we need your help in getting the word out about the license plate! This project has been “grass roots” from the start, from the lobbying to the fundraising to the plate design to all sales this year. While 500 plates sold sounds like a lot, state law requires that we have a minimum of 1,000 plates in circulation within the first three years of the issuance of the plate. So, we’re only halfway there. If we don’t hit 1,000 plates (and keep 1,000 plates in circulation in years 4 and 5,) our trail funding program will be lost!
Are you willing to spread the word in your local riding and trail-using community and keep this project moving? We really hope so! We have developed lots of different marketing methods, from informational post cards, to e-text, to merchandise and other ways of getting the message out. We're going to be starting a regular e-newsletter, to which you can subscribe and get all the information you’d need to help get the word out.
We hope to hear from you! Please contact us at info@mtbid.org if you'd like to help spread the word!
